Wire Dress

When we featured the cellphone dress we thought this was techie enough, but this computer wire dress has flipped our sense. Now, this isn’t a utility garment as the former, but it surely is reminiscing of how a geek can take to recycling. The dress walked the ramp at the recently concluded Austin Fashion Week. Designed by Tina Sparkles, the fantastic dress was an eye-candy at Austin Beautiful Recycled Fashion Show.

Unyubot

Tokyo Toy show the demonstration of a new pet robot called U.bo from Phison Electronics. This I must say, is no more useful than having an extra dog to take care of. I mean, it really doesn’t do anything worthwhile except for entertaining you with its weirdly annoying mannerisms. U.bo is actually an alien spore that has its residence in 6-legged space craft. It can walk in all directions, make sounds, which I hope are not annoying and its 11 x 11 LED screen displays array of emoticons. In addition to this, you also need to feed it from time to time, as if feeding yourself was not enough, I mean it is one extra task to be completed in the day. To feed it you have to tilt a magnetic cookie accessory towards its mouth and as a result it will poop, pee, fart, and burp. It has a funny way of pooping, it will show the poop icon and the user will have to shake it to clean it up.

Robots that transform into automobiles have steadily grown into a source of inspiration for many people around the globe. The creative fellows from RoboSteel have taken all this inspiration and been good with putting steal junk together to create the freakiest of transformer sculptures. After the 2,6 meter metal robo, RoboSteel has resurrected a $6,500 life-sized Bumblebee transformer from recycled steel, which stands at 2.2 meters tall. The idea of the sculpture was conceptualize after the yellow Camaro seen at the MPH Top gear show last year.

Chinese Race Car

We live in a world of initiators, because we ourselves aren’t good enough to think beyond the rudimentary, it’s therefore wise to appreciate others effort. In such a thought of emotions, it’s fitting to give up to the students of LS Racing team who’ve taken the pain and labor and with all the effort have built a formula race car of their own. The students of the LS Racing team from Guangxi University have been testing their race car, which is scheduled to hit the race track at the Formula SAE of China (FSAE) Shanghai in October.

Is it DTV?

Created by Benjamin Gulak and Ryan Fairhead, DTV shredder is the “first response modular platform for soldiers”, as shown off at Military Vehicles conference in Detroit, last year. It equips the soldiers in a better way to deal with the crisis. Remotely operated, it can venture through any terrain at high speed of 30mph and owing to the low center of gravity, it can be used for number of purposes like reconnaissance, rescue or recovery, mobile surveillance/offensive platform, med-evac and rapid response.

May Windows beat Berry?

One thing the tech world is waiting for more desperately than anything is Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system. With October 11 pronounced as the release date, we may just have a more anticipatory grin on our faces. Scheduled to be introduced at a press event in New York, smartphones loaded with the OS could make debut beginning late next month. While phones from the likes of Asus, HTC, LG and Dell have made leaked appearances, our eyes and hands are longing for the real thing to know what the hardware requirements would be like.

Well, if you’re sick of those similar bodied point-and-shoots released day in and day out, then Pentax Optio NB1000 is where your find something different to appreciate. I Love Vintage

We all love movies and those busses that have TVs in them to entertain commuters over long journeys; this takes a full swing with the whole home theater bus. Wouldn’t that journey just seem fun if you’re travelling in one of this home theater on wheels, well for me it definitely would? Seven such mobile cinemas were commissioned by the Ministry of Technology, UK way back in the sixties. While the others perished in the tide of time, this one, pictured above is the sole survivor that has been restored and upgraded with things like the new-age Blu-ray player and HD projector.

Google TV?

We’ve been hearing a good deal about Google TV over time, but the launch date for the TV hasn’t got a real affirmation anytime before this. Now, the rumor bandwagon suggests that the official launch date for Google TV has been scheduled for October 17. Confirmed through the leaked internal document from Best Buy, the October 17 is the date confirmed for the day when the set top box would make to the Best Buy stores. Considering the fact that Best Buy is the official Google partner in sale of Google TV, we can just take the speculations to be true. But mind you nothing is real until its actually there, so don’t just start believing before the 17th of October.

Self Service banking!

ATMs are usually described as convenience personified, but somehow the definition hasn’t really set in with all the hassle that ATMs have been giving us. However, IDEO has decided to give the world a new and a simpler face of self-service banking, as it has designed iPad enabled ATM for Spanish bank BBVA. Th redesigned ATM has a 19-inch touchscreen, replacing the keypad. It makes the entire money experience a hassle free one. In comparison to the traditional machines that have separate slots for everything, this ATM has just two slots .i.e. one for ATM card and the other for everything else. So, this makes your ATM operating a clutter free experience to a large extent. The re-design has also made every effort to make the user’s experience very personalized. The machine is rotated at 90 degree, so that people do not queue up right behind you, instead they do on the side of the machine, not able to view anything that you do.

Coffee + Game :O

When a pinball table is morphed into a coffee table it’s got to do more than just sit there with books and coffee mugs on it. Thus, when zieak picked up a pinball machine from the dump he didn’t know what do with it, until a bright idea struck him and he transformed the playing surface of the old and useless pinball machine (with some LEDs) into a coffee table for his living, and leave us game freaks wanting one. We just love two brands teaming up for something special for consumers to have. And when brands are of Ferrari and Hassleblad’s stature, then the combo becomes all the more lethal. This was proven at the Photonika, where Hasselbald and Ferrari showed the H4D Ferrari – limited edition camera alongside Hassleblad’s new 200MP medium format camera. Only 499 units of the crazily unique H4D Ferrari will be made, which are expected to be available sometime next year. We don’t have much info on the camera (it’s slated to be made public in October) but we learn that it is finished in Ferrari’s unique color “rosso fuoco”, and bears the legendary Racing Shield and comes with an 80mm lens.

Oracle’s annual conference saw Michael Dell teasing the world with its new 7-inch android tablet. It seems really nice form this far, but the sad part is that Dell has not talked about either its features or the date and the price with which it will be coming. It seems you and I have to watch this space for sometime to come until Dell dishes out the details. And, anticipating so much is not good at all, as I am already having visions about this new android device. However, at the same time Dell also took time to announce that the smaller version of streak is ready to hit the shelves next month.
